Our food contain sugars from plants (such as whole grain cereals and their byproducts such as breads and pastas); green vegetables, fruits, and dairy products are also rich in carbohydrates. The ingestion of simple unhealthy sugars has rapidly increased, and this has been suggested to play a role in the development of various diseases. Sugar-sweetened beverages contain loads of added sugars, it is important that we choose the right kinds of sugars as often as possible by consuming more natural and whole foods and beverages, rather than processed ones.
